I grew up in South Africa, where I qualified as an Electrical Engineer – eventually gaining my Ph.D. degree.
Prior to coming to Vancouver I taught Information Systems at the University of Cape Town. I studied music and singing from an early age, graduating with a Licentiate in Piano and have performed in many recitals and concerts including appearances as soloist in various symphony concerts. Other instruments I play are guitar, piano accordion, harmonica and ukelele.
I became fascinated with ventriloquism, and became well known for my school shows on life-skills. I have appeared on television, both in South Africa and Israel, where I participated in the International Puppet Festival in 1995.
In 2009 I was the winner of the Vancouver leg of the Senior Star competition.
